The Greatness of Forgiveness!

We experience situations and events in our lives that hurt us, imprison us in our own thoughts, and prevent us from seeing the choice, beauty, and blessing of forgiveness.

The difficult moments, sorrowful situations, and wounds will always be part of life. Many times, they hurt us unfairly or at least that's how we feel. However, we always have the ability to hold love within us and choose who we want to be each time. Here, the greatness of forgiveness is the wisest choice!

Forgiving events and people in our lives means that we first acknowledge our participation in situations where we also hurt or wronged others, " no one is sinless”. Forgiveness brings spiritual freedom, peace, tranquility, and clarity to the mind...

Matthew 6:14

[eng] For if you forgive other people when they sin against you,

your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

The gift of forgiveness frees us from any burden that has settled within us and makes room for God to do the internal work that each of us needs.

Ephesians 4:32

[eng]  Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Talking and writing about forgiveness is easy, but the spiritual wounds that remain within us often do not leave us room to think that we can forgive. The blessing of forgiveness is a cure for the spirit, body and soul. Forgiveness is a difficult choice, but it is even more challenging for our hearts to drown in sorrow. The wisest way to continue our lives is to forgive ourselves and move forward.

God gave us the ability to become like Him, breathing His essence into us (article, Forgetting the 'Essence' of Things ).  He knew that as humans, we would wrong and be wronged, but He loves us because we are His children and does not want our wounds to hold us back, either spiritually or physically. The act of forgiveness shows that we are spiritually maturing and approaching the divine form more and more.

Colossians 3:12-13

[eng] 12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
