Without Labels!

Have you ever thought about how our lives would be if we didn't give everything a label?

Characterize < ancient Greek: to sharpen something, to hone it (to split, scratch, carve, notch, inscribe, and write; to sharpen, carve, split).

Characterize = to classify someone or something into a category based on certain specific characteristics or qualities, to distinguish them, to set them apart from others.

The word itself shows us that the choice to give labels sharpens, carves, hones, creating a relatively deep incision in the way we perceive everything around us!

By characterizing time, we not only included the fear of death but also turned our lives into a race against time! Labeling the neighbor as 'strange' or the friend as 'ungrateful' singled them out as unsuitable!

They called you a mother and sister, but...

Whoever does the will of my Father who is in heaven is my brother, sister, and mother.

(Matthew 12:50).

We named the Earth and fought to conquer it! We established borders and divided the human race! But we forgot that love, God, sees no borders, knows no labels... now and forever and unto the ages of ages!

Ephesians 6:9

As for masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Stop threatening them, because you know that both you and your slaves have a master in heaven. He doesn’t distinguish between people on the basis of status.

Romans 2:11

God does not have favorites.

Christ always speaks of love; it guides his words and actions. Therefore, the God who is love... has His own criteria. He won't ask if you come from a good family, nor does he care what the world says about you! He knows better than anyone who you are and what you hide in your heart. He truly knows the "I am" of you and the substance from which you are formed!

Matthew 20:1-16

So those who are last will be first. And those who are first will be last.

God determines the reward for each based on His criteria, which are not human and superficial. He sacrificed His Son not only for the sins of the spiritually resurrected but for the whole world.

1 John 2:2

He is God’s way of dealing with our sins, not only ours but the sins of the whole world

He sacrificed Himself to free us from our sins, not just our sins but the sins of the whole world.

Additionally, in Ephesians 2, it doesn't just tell us that God tore down the walls that separated Jews and Gentiles; it explains that His love for all is such that it doesn't justify pride from the newcomers, specifically in 2:10, it says:

"We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Let's not judge people by labels, external appearances, their past, or any characterization given by the human mind...

Matthew 7:1-2

1  “Don’t judge, so that you won’t be judged.  2You’ll receive the same judgment you give. Whatever you deal out will be dealt out to you.

...the one you speak of with labels might be praying for you every day, so:

James 2:8 “Love your neighbor as yourself…”"
