Most of the time, we face our relationships without consciously realizing the true purpose behind them. We act and think with a focus on our egocentrism, making it difficult to change our mindset!

To effect change in our lives, it is necessary to learn the difference between responding to our relationships and reacting to them. To achieve this, it's important to distinguish self-esteem from egocentrism. The crucial difference lies in the fact that one stems from love, while the other is driven by selfishness.

Self-esteem and self-respect are factors that will help us reach a spiritual level, enabling us to observe how we manage our relationships.

Self-esteem:

  • The calculation of the material or ethical value, quality, significance, seriousness, etc., of a thing or situation.

  • A positive opinion of a person.

  • Evaluation.

  • The reputation, value, and respect attributed.

Self-respect:

  • Positive emotion or action expressed toward someone or something considered important.

  • A deep sense of appreciation and admiration for someone whose unique value and superiority are recognized, accompanied by behavior befitting their personality, age, and social status.

Philippians 2:3-4

[eng] Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

Each person does not come into our lives by chance; they are usually either our teacher or our student. Therefore, it is wise to listen to what each person has to say! Thinking in this way makes it easier to be open to discussions, make acquaintances, and participate in social interactions. The most constructive way to develop on a spiritual level is to consider what life wanted to tell us through this encounter—why did God bring this person into my life? Do I need to change something in my thinking or actions? And always consider what we gained from the experiences we went through!

We are all interconnected, here to help one another—companions, participants, allies, and supporters on the journey of life!
